Candle care
A few simple habits keep your flame calm, your glass beautiful and your home safe, for years of evenings.
Before you light
- Place the vase on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from curtains, shelves and drafts.
- Fill the vase about two-thirds high with candle sand and smooth the surface.
- Insert a wick upright, about half an inch into the sand. Keep multiple wicks at least 2 inches apart.
While it burns
- Never leave a burning candle unattended or within reach of children and pets.
- Keep the wick trimmed to about a quarter inch for a calm, smoke-free flame.
- Do not move the vase while lit or while the glass is still warm.
Extinguishing
- Use a snuffer or gently press the wick into the sand. Avoid blowing, which can scatter sand.
- Let the vase cool completely before touching or refilling.
Refreshing & refilling
- Lift out the used wick together with the small piece of hardened wax beneath it.
- Stir and level the remaining sand, top up from a refill bag, and insert a fresh wick.
Cleaning the glass
- Empty the cooled sand into a container to reuse.
- Wash the vase by hand with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Dry fully before refilling.
- Avoid dishwashers, abrasive pads and sudden temperature changes, which can damage hand-blown glass.
